  • LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz.-944th Fighter Wing Reserve Citizen Airmen prepared for upcoming deployments later this year by attending a deployment brief August 6 at the base theater. Over 120 Airmen and their family members attended the brief to become familiar with benefits and resources available to them before, during, and after the deployment. During the event, resource advisors were available to answer questions during breaks and offered material to educate the service members.   • The 944th Fighter Wing, the Air Force Reserve’s largest F-16, A-10, F-15E, and F-35 training wing trains and provides combat-ready Reserve Citizen Airmen, anytime, anywhere. The wing was activated at Luke Air Force Base on July 1, 1987. The wing has since grown and now has 25 subordinate units consisting of four groups, 11 squadrons, three detachments, two flights, four operating locations, and one test center which include geographically separated units at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Holloman Air Force Base, and Eglin Air Force Base. The 944th Fighter Wing is tasked to support worldwide mobility and combat employment operations in conjunction with supporting the Air Education and Training Command, and Air Combat Command mission to train F-16, F-15E, F-35, and A-10 pilots for the United States Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and other participating nations.

    944 vehicle operators get hands-on training in Italy

    The peaks of Italy’s Dolomites range loom over the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron’s vehicle operations area while Reserve Citizen Airmen with the 944th Logistics Readiness Squadron work with their active-duty counterparts stationed at Aviano Air Base. The six-man vehicle operations team are here for their annual tour and to gain training and experience.

    Luke Honor Guard shares TFI concept

    Citizen Airmen from the 944th Fighter Wing Honor Guard program completed the Basic Protocol, Honors, and Ceremonies course. The Total Force Integration event took place here January 23 – February 1.
