    Luke’s command post is in two locations, however, they are considered one team and one unit. The primary location is administratively owned by the 56th Fighter Wing and the alternate site is housed at the 944th Fighter Wing.

    The 944th Fighter Wing takes a closer look into the lives of their Airmen. "I am an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanic. We inspect, repair, and maintain Cirrus Sr20, Bonanza F33, and Grob G120 aircraft for the students at Lufthansa Aviation Training Goodyear and the German Air Force."

  • Luke CES Airmen participate in IRT project

    Over 50 service members from the U.S. Air Force and Marine Corps Reserve and Air National Guard who participated in an Innovative Readiness Training project May 18 through June 1.

  • Operation Reserve Kids Engages Families

    The 944th FW A&FRC hosted 43 youth here, ages 6 to 15, as they participated in Operation Reserve Kids, April 6. The event provided participants with insight into what their parents experience during deployment. The intent of the program is to reduce stress for families during separation.

  • D&TF prepares recruits for military service

    In order to assist the young men and women in Arizona who enlist in the Air Force Reserve, in 2012, the 944th Fighter Wing implemented a training program for enlistees to commit themselves before shipping to Basic Military Training.

  • F-35 maintainer is on his way to becoming an F-35 pilot

    Staff Sgt. Andrew Martin, a Reserve Citizen Airman crew chief assigned to the 944th Fighter Wing’s Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, knew at the age of 5 he wanted to be a pilot. After his 22-year dream, he will attend Officer Training School to become an F-35 pilot.
