Holiday Season -- Take care of yourself Published Nov. 6, 2011 By Chief Master Sgt. Thomas Brandhuber 944th Fighter Wing command chief LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The life of a reservist is never easy nor does it slow down. The Triad (Family-Civilian Job-and Military Commitment) seems to be growing with physical fitness and resiliency now as additional key components. We often feel torn between many different masters, which makes trying to keep them all happy both challenging, and at times frustrating. During these hectic times please remain grounded to what is important: your family and your civilian job. Those must be your focus, so you can perform your mission either during drill weekend or when deployed. As a traditional reservist with a full-time civilian job, four young daughters and a spouse who also works full time, I understand the challenges and experience the delicate balance we all struggle with on a daily basis. Whatever your status, TR, AGR, ART, or Civilian, your sacrifices and dedication are appreciated. Please ensure that you are taking care of yourself both mentally and physically as this can be even more challenging during the holiday season. I would ask that in the next few months, you take the time to slow down and express your appreciation for your families, friends, and co-workers who enable you be to be successful both inside and outside the uniform. Also, try to slow down and take some time for yourself, prioritize what is important to you and ensure that you have set up effective strategies in order to be successful. So, during the next few months enjoy, be safe and remember our 944th members as well as all uniformed members. Most importantly remember their families at home during this time. Thank you for everything you do, see you around the Wing.
