"Proud!" "Amazed!" exclaimed Sandee Denomee during the 944th Fighter Wing's annual Bosses Day Feb. 6. "Doing this let's me hear the Airman's story right up front and I am so proud of their strength and courage." Ms. Denomee, who works with USAA, attended as a show of support to both employers and reservists.

Bosses Day allows civilian employers of reservists the opportunity to see first-hand how the 944th FW trains and what their reserve employee actually does when they are on duty.

"I'm always asking my reservists, 'Just what do you do?'" said Jennifer Brewer of Verde Valley Medical Center. Ms. Brewer is "boss" to reservists Maj. Robert Barth and Master Sgt. Stacy Gregory, assigned to the 944th Aeromedical Staging Squadron. "I had no idea that their training was at such an intense and realistic level as I saw today."

The day's events included a security forces K9 demonstration, F-16 static display tour, fuels group presentation, communications squadron tour, and the ever popular visit to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit.

For Senior Master Sgt. Dave Merris, 944th Civil Engineer Squadron first sergeant, his boss, Mark Dillard, at Sypris Test and Measurement, had a chance to see how things have changed since his days in uniform. "I'm very happy to be here and being a veteran it gives me great satisfaction to see the continued dedication, skill, and courage of these Airmen."
