  • “Service Before Self:” Luke Airman Honored by Tempe Chamber Military Affairs Committee

    In an emotional ceremony honoring the legacy of a former member of the 944th Fighter Wing, Master Sgt. Danielle Graziani reflected on the recognition that she doesn’t normally seek after she was awarded the annual Graydon Williams Award. The Graydon Williams Award is given annually to an Airman of the 944 FW and is presented by the Tempe Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee. The award was named after Tech. Sgt. Williams, who was an Air Reserve technician for the fighter wing and served in the Air Force for over 20 years.
  • 944 FW stands up maintenance group at Luke

    More than 400 members will eventually make up the newly organized group, forecasted to provide more than 1.1 million hours of maintenance production per year on F-16 and F-35 aircraft partnered with the 56th Maintenance Group. The team consists of Air Reserve Technicians and Traditional Reservists providing full and part-time maintenance production support. Several members of the local community in addition to friends, and family of the new group were present for the Saturday morning ceremony, orchestrated in a hangar between an F-16 and F-35.
  • ART Top Dogs win DCC competition

    Air Reserve Technicians from the 944th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, also representing the 61st Aircraft Maintenance Unit, took first place during the 4th Quarter 56th Maintenance Group Dedicated Crew Chief competition Dec. 5, 2017. The winners were announced during the 56th Maintenance Group Quarterly Awards ceremony Jan. 17, 2018.
  • Reserve Commander visits 944th Citizen Airmen

    Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 944th Fighter Wing welcomed the commander of Air Force Reserve Command, Lt. Gen. Maryanne Miller during the January Unit Training Assembly. Gen. Miller spent three days at Luke Air Force Base, home of the F-35 Lightening II, joining the 944th Reservists as they went through their monthly training events. The visit started with a short stop to the 944th Security Forces Squadron where she was able to meet some of the Reserve Citizen Airmen’s families who were out for a Family Day event.
