944th Operation Group welcomes new commander, stands-up squadron
LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, ARIZ. – Reserve Citizen Airman Col. Brett Comer, 944th Operations Group commander, reactivates the 52nd Fighter Squadron and gives command of the squadron to Reserve Citizen Airman Lt. Col. Wyckliffe Furcron at the activation ceremony at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, August 6, 2021. Due to their increased in personnel Detachment 2 was considered a squadron, leading them to choose the 52nd Fighter Squadron which had been deactivated since June 1951. (U.S. Air Force Photo/Tech.
