U.S. Air Force Reserve commander born at sea after parents fled Vietnam pays it forward by serving
Air Force Reservist Lt. Col. Asan Bui’s parents, Chien Van Bui (left) and Mau Thi Tran (right), at a formal event. According to Bui, his family escaped political persecution at the end of the Vietnam War and resettled in America as refugees. Bui now serves as a communications flight commander with the 920th Rescue Wing, a unit based out of Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. (Courtesy photo)
