LRS Superintendent receives Graydon Williams Award

Senior Master Sgt. Janice A. Wheeler, 944th Logistics Readiness Squadron superintendent, stands with Ms. Anne Gill (left), Tempe Chamber of Commerce president, and Ms. Elaine Vreeland (right), Tempe Military Affairs Committee chairperson, March 13, 2019, as Wheeler accepts the Graydon Williams Award during the Red, White and Blue Awards brunch at the Main Event, Tempe, Ariz. The Graydon William Award is presented annually to an Air Reserve Technician or Active Guard Reserve member who personifies the character and traits of the late Tech. Sgt. Graydon Williams, a 944th Fighter Wing maintenance ART who died at a young age of cancer. The essence of the award is based on superior performers who do not seek recognition, perform clearly above expectations, and have not been adequately recognized for their overall contributions and impact on the wing. Wheeler is responsible for providing leadership, management, and guidance in equipping and mobilizing 93 squadron personnel to meet home station, expeditionary, and contingency mission requirements. She is the top enlisted advisor to the squadron commander and ensures Airmen are ready, trained, and understand the squadron’s strategic mission and vision. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt.
