Scobes 2015 visit
Brig. Gen. Richard Scobee, 10th Air Force Commander, honored the wing by providing the keynote speech for the 944th Annual Awards Ceremony Feb 7. In a voice often laced with emotions Scobee proudly told the story of his father who was the commander of the Space Shuttle challenger that was lost on Jan 28, 1986. He spoke about his dad’s journey from enlisting in the Air Force as 18-year-old, turning wrenches on the flight line, to commanding the space shuttle. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
