F/A-18s visit Luke Air Force Base

A local news crew gets video footage Oct. 23 of the F/A-18s from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., parked on the flightline outside the 944th Fighter Wing. MCAS Miramar and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing evacuated 30 aircraft to Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., Oct. 22, due to the close proximity of wildfires raging in California. The squadron of F/A-18s is just one of six from Miramar evacuated to bases in Arizona and California. The aircraft will remain at these locations until the U.S. Marine Corps determines it is safe to return to their home station. While some aircraft are being evacuated, there are numerous heavy and medium lift helicopters remaining at Miramar to support the fire fighting operations. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
