Colonel takes final flight

HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- Col. Robert McCutchen, 56th Fighter Wing at Luke AFB, Ariz., prepares for his final flight in the U.S. Air Force April 20, 2011. Colonel McCutchen, a command pilot with more than 5,000 hours in the F-16 Fighting Falcon, chose the historic F-4 Phantom for his final flight before retirement. Holloman is one of only a few bases that actively fly this aircraft. Entering service in 1960, the aircraft changed the landscape of airpower worldwide and served with distinction in Vietnam, Korea and Desert Storm and was retired from active service in 1996.
