944th Fighter Wing’s Newest NCOs and SNCOs Honored

Newly promoted Staff Sergeants and Master Sergeants from the 944th Fighter Wing were inducted into the NCO and SNCO Corps at an induction ceremony held May 05 at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. Chief Master Sgt. David Staton, Command Chief Master Sergeant, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, was the guest speaker. Chief Staton spoke to over 40 inductees about the importance of their milestone promotions. “It’s not about school, endorsement or praise; it’s about doing your job”, said Chief Staton. He also spoke about the importance of the NCO’s role to young Airmen. “NCOs are the first line of defense for our Airmen. Take care of their needs and desires. You didn’t reach the rank you are at by osmosis, somebody had to teach you. Your Airmen want both attention and discipline.” (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Josh Nason)
