The 944th Logistics Readiness Squadron conducted a four-day Combat Operational Readiness Training (CORT) course at Luke Air Force Base Mar 5-8.

The bi-annual training consisting of land navigation, convoy operations, and bare base setup and defense is intended to serve as a familiarization of deployed operations for the LRS Airmen.

For some young Airmen with no deployment experience it was an eye opening experience. According to Master Sgt. Greg Glenn, 944 LRS, vehicle operations superintendent, "feedback from the young Airmen was really positive. They had a great time, but they also learned a lot about what it is like to do their job in a deployed environment."

The training was complemented by assistance from the 944th Security Forces Squadron.  They participated in instruction of land navigation, as well as creating realistic training scenarios, and serving as Opposing Force (OPFOR) in the field exercises.

"The knowledge and insight that we received from Security Forces was excellent," said Glenn  "Not only did they aid in the training, but they also made it possible for our Airmen to get the training they needed as opposed to having to serve as OPFOR.  They were a tremendous help."
