The 944th Fighter Wing hosted its annual Spring Mentorship Ride, once again bringing together Reserve Citizen Airmen for training, safety, and camaraderie on two wheels.

This year’s ride was led by 944th FW Commander Col. Todd Riddle and was open to all Luke reservists enrolled in the Motorcycle Unit Safety Tracking Tool (MUSTT).

“It was fun to meet some riders in our fighter wing and receive some great tips from veteran instructors,” said Riddle. “I had gotten pretty stale on a few techniques, and in just a few minutes, the instruction I received was great.”

The mentorship ride satisfies the Level III training requirement for motorcycle riders and aligns with Cave Creek Bike Week. Riders traveled to Bartlett Lake for a quick stop and review before heading to the Bike Week venue to socialize with fellow riders, enjoy local vendors, and listen to live music.

To promote safety and readiness, Motorcycle Safety Representatives (MSRs) conduct preseason TCLOCS (Tires, Controls, Lights, Oil, Chassis, and Stands) inspections one to two Unit Training Assemblies prior to the annual ride.

Reservists interested in joining the mentorship ride or learning more about the program are encouraged to contact their unit MSR.
