More than 70 civilian employers of 944th Fighter Wing reservists attended the 2006 annual Bosses Day on Saturday of the February UTA.

The event kicked off with a breakfast at the Officers’ Club followed by a presentation by Col. Derek Rydholm, 944th FW commander; ESGR representative Lawrence Wise; and guest speaker, City of Buckeye Police Chief Dan Saban.

The employers were split into three groups with two going on a KC-135 refueling flight in the morning and one in the afternoon.

In addition to the refueling flight, the employers also learned about the F-16 and its engine, the capabilities of night vision goggles during a life support demonstration, the various munitions the Air Force uses, and the equipment used by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians.

Civilian employer Frank Cavalier, City of Goodyear vice mayor, said, “The Air Force Reserve and particularly the 944th are superior performers and are actively engaged in the defense of our nation.”
