The Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) will no longer be an authorized uniform as of Nov. 1, the mandatory phase out date.

The Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) will be the only authorized uniform as of the same date. Remember that the ABU was designed for wash and wear and should not be ironed or starched at anytime.

Commanders may authorize sleeves to be rolled up on the ABU blouse; however, the cuffs will remain visible and the sleeve will rest at or within 1 inch of the forearm when the arm is bent at a 90-degree angle.

Sage green boots will be the only authorized footwear to be worn with ABUs or the flight duty uniform. Boots will be laced up with plain rounded toe or rounded capped toe with or without a perforated seam.

Other items that will be phased out effective Nov. 1: black t-shirts, Desert Camouflage Uniform, black comeback boots (with utility uniforms and FDUs), tan boots with ABU.
