Maj. Gen. Craig N. Gourley, vice commander, Air Force Reserve Command, paid a short visit to the 944th Fighter Wing Dec. 3.

Greeted by Brig. Gen. J.D. Harris, 56th Fighter Wing commander and Col. Jose R. Monteagudo, 944th Fighter Wing commander, Gourley used his few hours at Luke AFB to visit several 944th organizations and facilities. During his tour Gourley spoke with Airmen from the Mission Support Group, Aeromedical Staging Squadron and the Operations Group.

"I think we are definitely, as a reserve command, well postured for the future," Gourley told a group of Airmen from 944th Civil Engineering Squadron. "I think our deploy-to-dwell is going to get better. It's on the top of Gen. Schwartz's list and there are things that we are going to do in the Air Force as a whole to make it better."

Before his departure, Gourley advised the Airmen from the 944th OG, "Opt in, be that guy or gal who wants to be a senior leader, giving back and making things better and train your replacements so we can continue to be the best reserve force in the future."
