There are a few issues I wanted to reach out to you about, so let's jump right in. Warning, many acronyms set to appear:
AFRC has initiated a training program to work with our new Reserve members who are Non Prior Service (NPS) awaiting basic military training school dates, as well as NPS and Prior Service (PS) members waiting for technical training school dates. Unfortunately, sometimes those school dates are a long time coming. So, in order to ensure we keep our new Wing members active and for some, experiencing the military life for the first time, the 944th FW is going to implement a Development and Training Flight (D&TF).

This new program will run on drill weekends and will provide blocks of training for NPS and PS Wing members waiting for school dates. The D&TF will provide courses in AF/AFRC History, Customs and Courtesies, Enlisted Force Structure, Dress and Appearance, and Physical Training to name a few. In addition, physical fitness will be a key component of the D&TF program.

There is already a core curriculum for the classes as well as programs which are up and running that will allow for best practices to be copied. The program is funded and ready to move forward. We are only missing one thing, a facilitator.

The 944th will be looking for an individual in TR status who is willing to commit to 180 days of man-days in order to start up and run our program. At this time, the facilitator will remain in their current PAS code per MilPDS with the same line of supervision; however, you will be detailed to the Wing Command Chief, that's me. The formal process will be released this weekend with a hiring process to be conducted during the March UTA. Needless to say we are looking for an energetic Airman with a passion for impacting our new Wing members.
