Over 700 Reservists and their families took advantage of the beautiful weather on Sunday to come out and enjoy the 944th Fighter Wing's annual Family Day.

This year the activities kicked off with a warrior challenge competition. Teams competed by pushing humvees, rolling giant tires, carrying litters with "patients" on them and several other activities.

One of the highlights of the day was Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving on a fire truck, much to the delight of everyone.

The event had activities for every age including a bouncy house, carnival games, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, paintball and military displays. This year the three local bands donated their time to entertain the crowds during a catered lunch.

"Everyone had a great time this year including me," said Col. Jose Monteagudo, 944th Fighter Wing commander. "Our member's service requires sacrifice from not only them, but from their family as well, and this event is an opportunity for us to thank them for their support and understanding."

During the event 944th members and their families had the opportunity to sign cards for deployed members and the children of deployed members were recognized and given a gift through Operation Gratitude.
