944th administer the oath of enlistment at NASCAR event

Phoenix International Raceway, Ariz. --  944th Fighter Wing member was chosen to administer the oath of enlistment to the Air Forces newsiest recruits during a ceremony held before Sundays NASCAR event.

Chaplain Kevin Rash, 944th Fighter Wing, swore in 16 new recruits in front of thousands of NASCAR fans during the Subway Fresh Fit 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the Phoenix International Raceway Sunday.

Chaplain Rash spoke briefly to the crowd about the tradition of the Oath of Enlistment.

"You are starting on an exciting journey," said Rash. "The reality today is that we still have operations going on around the globe but today is a proud day for the Air Force as we welcome our newest Airmen."
