Colonel SCOTT E. BRIESE

Colonel Scott E. Briese is the Commander, 944th Maintenance Group, United States Air Force Reserve, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. As commander, he is responsible for leading, developing, directing maintenance production and readiness efforts of 450 members to build an associated group forecasted to provide over 614K hours of maintenance production per year. This team is comprised of 242 Air Reserve Technicians and 208 Traditional Reservist providing full and part-time maintenance production support on assigned F-16 and F-35 aircraft partnering with the 56th Maintenance Group to build the future of air power.

 

Colonel Briese was born and raised in Long Beach, California.  He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1996. After serving 11 years on Active Duty, he transitioned to the Air Force Reserves in 2007. He continued as an Air Reserve Technician. Qualified as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer, he has led maintenance and logistics operations supporting combat sortie generation, munitions operations, and tanker/airlift missions at home station and deployed in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM on the following airframes: EF-111As, F-16C/D (Block 25/30/40/50), A/OA-10s, KC-10s, C-5 A/B/Cs, and F-35s.  Col Briese’s command experience includes two squadrons and one group, to include standing up an Active Association.  Finally, he has accomplished two higher headquarters assignments.
